possible future site of Nolensville Town HallIn an article in the Tennessean today by Suzanne Normand Blackwood, reported on the demise of plans to build a new Town Hall in the old Piggly Wiggly shopping center (facing the wrong way toward the ball fields). The Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted last week to cancel their contract with developer Bill Tisano after he failed to raise financing for the project by the June 1st deadline. Despite an outcry from the community last year, town government plodded ahead on what would have sunk Nolensville into deep debt for the first time in its history.

The BOMA has been looking for alternative locations since it became apparent that Tisano was not going to meet the deadline. Said Ms. Blackwood, "The town's board of mayor and aldermen at its monthly meeting Thursday approved a resolution that allows the mayor to enter into negotiations for a new town hall site. The location, on Nolensville Road near the First Tennessee Bank, is the former site of Restoration Radio Network International."

The reporter is not from here. Most people know its an empty lot.

The site is large but fronting busy Nolensville Rd. beside retail stores and beside a bank that has been flooded twice including recently, is not my idea of the "best" of the ones on the list.

But I'm like a lot of people. Little Nolensville government doesn't make any sense. As long as they don't hear a discouraging word from
many people, they will keep right on doing what they are doing, so whose fault is that?

Of course they want a Taj MaHal, where else would our mayor place her throne?

They still want to spend too much - build a Taj MaHal. I'm sure they're dreaming about their names on the brass plaque.
