Do you remember Wendie Malick from "Just Shoot Me?" or what about Valerie Bertinelli from "Have you called Jenny yet?" (Ok, I couldn't remember her series back when so I used her latest) or what about Jane Leaves from "Frasier?"  If any of these actresses ring a bell, you must tune in to "HOT in Cleveland," a brand new show from TV Guide channel.  It debuts at 8 or 9pm on TV Guide channel June 16.  But, here's the real clincher for this show.  Betty White is also a regular on the show and you know she's a hoot.

Rob Lowe Joins Parks and Recreation Print

Rob Lowe, who has been in films and on television for over two decades is joining the sitcom "Parks and Recreation."  His character will be introduced May 13 on NBC.  I have never been a fan of this show because I don't think Amy Poehler is funny, nor the rest of the cast.  I will say that I only tuned in twice and was turned off twice, but I will definitely watch the show on the 13th of May because Rob Lowe will be on it.  Rob is a great actor and is extremely handsome.  His age has not let his appearance wane at all, and his comedic flair is equally as appealing as the drama shows he has been in.  I hope you'll watch with me so we can discuss it later.

If You're A Comcast User Print

If you have Comcast as your cable provider, and depending on the type of service you have, you might have "On Demand."  Now this is the neat thing with On Demand.  It isn't just for ordering special movies at 2.99 to $4.99 each.  It's much more than that.  Here's how it works.

Go to "On Demand," then choose from a number of options.  Example:  Television Shows.  Then choose one of these "On TV" "Specials" "Movies" "free movies," and a list of other options.  I went to On TV and chose Saturday Night Live.  Now, I have never been a regular fan of this show, infact when I was introduced to it, the people that brought it to my attention told me people watching it should be half lit, or they wouldn't think it was funny.  Well, I don't smoke any funny stuff and I don't drink so I never thought any of it was funny, but I did like Eddie Murphy and Gilda Radner, also Chevy Chase.  When they left, I discontinued watching.

In November, Taylor Swift, the 19 year old country singer was on - hosting it actually and she was really funny.  Not only is she a gifted songwriter, she is a terrific comedic and dramatic actress.  If you missed this show you can go to On Demand and watch it.

Also, if you haven't seen "Accidentally On Purpose," starring Jenna Elfman, you're missing a great show.  The premise will keep this show from extending into a second year as it has nowhere to go, and unfortunately, a great cast will be looking for other jobs.  Jenna Elfman is a terrific actress.  She has given stellar performances in this series.  You can also see all the episodes by going to On Demand.

The new Adventures of Old Christine is a great show too.  Julia Louis Dreyfus is a great comedienne and the cast is great too.  You have to like a little slapstick to enjoy this show.

If you've missed any tv show, you can usually go to the network and see them again.  Example www.nbc.com/tvshows, or www.fancast.com and watch tv shows and movies for free.

Isn't cable wonderful?

What's your favorite show?

2012 Movie and Prediction Print

If you don't already know, 2010 is a sci-fi thriller about the end of the world.

Now, if you recall, some people were thinking that the "new millenium" would end the world.

The movie 2012 is a high budget, spectacular film that shows (in the director's eye) what it would look like if the earth got swallowed up by itself and it's pretty frightening, even though watching it, it's almost comical.

John Cusack is driving madly down a street and all of the buildings, cars and buildings behind him are being swallowed up by falling into a black hole.

2010 is a dissaster movie, much like Independence Day and The Day After.

If you like special effects you will enjoy this movie.
