There will soon be a pizza/sub shop in the historic district. It will be in the building long timers still call "J.T.'s".
Rio Verde used to be there for you more recent neighbors.

The Feed Mill has homemade ice cream now.

Roses and Rustics is now open Thurs.-Sat. next to the funeral home.
We still call that "B.O.'s".

Some memories just don't die.
Sheila Geary, owner of Village Antiques and Gifts (in the former bank/post office/Marishell's Gifts building) is one long time resident that remembers the way our business district used to be when the bank, post office, groceries, gas station, mechanics, feed mill and funeral home were all right there together.
Many long timers wish for those good old days back again when the district was bustling with customers.

The business owners and employees were like family and treated customers that way. It was an "Everybody knows your name" kind of place.

Sheila has planned 4 special events for the district merchants. July 24th. she's asking people to bring pet food for the county facility to replace what was lost during the flood. Pets will be there for adoption too.

You don't have to wait till then to shop but the last Saturdays in the next 3 months will be "Summer Daze" in the district. Shops will have special sales and refreshments. There will be live music by Ted Hatfield and others.

The sewers are done in their area and merchants wlll be connected and have their own bathroom very soon!!!
