Yes, I often wonder, but never envy, people with tiny yards and irrigation systems and no weeds to wrestle with and no dirt to dig in, DO with all that free time.
My life would be so barren and boring (to ME) without critters, grass, gardens and yardwork. I do some of my best thinking on a mower or with a tool or hoseipe in my hand.
Gardening used to be America's #1 past time.

Our daughter waited 11 years to find a do it yourselfer husband like herself; one who didn't scoff and say they hired peons to do the unimportant stuff. - Lynda

The problem today is most people don’t “just do it”. The large majority now pay someone to mow their lawn, take their cars to the car wash and pay someone else to wash it for them. Some even have cleaning services clean their homes. Then they pay for a gym membership to get exercise! Maybe I’m just living in the dark ages but it seams financially and physically wasteful and a poor example to our children. - John

Great article, but whilr we DO something, we should also STAND for something.

Another phrase that inspires me is the title of a country song...."You've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything". - Lynda
