January 7 BOMA Agenda Print
Written by Gardiner Jones

This month's Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting agenda follows. Community residents are encouraged to attend. Before the meeting begins you may sign up to voice your ideas for 2 minutes during the Citizens Input/General Comments agenda item. Of particular interest this month is item 9, the second reading of ordinance #09-21. If passed on third reading it will become law, and will literally open the flood gates for developers to build in the flood plain. If you think this is not a wise thing to do, then attend this meeting this Thursday, and speak out.

I love this part in the new disclaimer on the Nolensville government site: "All documents on the Town of Nolensville web-site are continuously being updated." If they are "continuously updated" then why are they not posted current on the web site? The town government doesn't have a "web site," they have a "cob-web site."

The rule is 3 minutes for negative comments against what the boards have already decided to do, or less if you talk the way we do in private. A little bell tinkles, the mayor says thank you and then usually denies and rebutts what you said, insinuating you are stupid and a liar and anyone agreeing with you is too. She's the only one still unable to admit the government has ever done anything foolish, unethical, dangerous, and dishonest.

Negative comments by anyone never appear on the written record except edited so that the public never understands anything negative was said.

If you are a developer or saying something positive though, you can take much longer and usually there is no bell.

That's why this uncensored website and getting copies of the recordings are so important.
